Thanks for your comments. I am using an industrial walking foot machine with a piping foot. Yesterday I was at it again only with more success. As I was using a heavy upholstery fabric I decided to cut the skirt into sections so that there was a seam on the inside of the `T` this has helped as it reduced the bulk of fabric and it is lying a lot flatter, (does that make sense to you?) anyway just thought Id let you know. sue
