I lockstitch the interlining all along the bottom egde of the hem, using colour matched cotton, to the silk as well as all the way up the side allowance. When the side allowance is turned in, I lockstitch both layers again before laying in the lining. I only secure the lining and interlining if there is a seam on the lining, other than sewing the sides as normal. If you are using more than one width it may be necessary to lockstitch main fabric and interlining halfway across the widths. Make sure that everything is held firm and flat. Clamp and pin as the fabrics can fight against each other. Hope this helps, Enid
