Hi Kelly, yes you can still make the blind to go inside the recess, but you must use the smallest measurement for the width, for example, if you measure the blind in three places, ie top, middle, and bottom, and top is 151 cms, middle is 151.50 and bottom is 151.75 you must make the blind to fit 151 otherwise it will catch on the way down. You are always going to get a tiny amount of light coming through the sides. I think that a straight pelmet will look fine on the outside of the recess. Hope that this helps. Regards helen
